Annie Lucas (February 18, 1954) was raised in Autauga County, Georgia, but moved to Florida as an adult. In her childhood, she was greatly influenced by her mother who seemed to constantly be sewing something. After her husband suffered a disabling back injury, Annie had a vision of Jonah and the Whale and began creating art. Her trademark Biblical images are made of paint and stitches of thread on canvases.
