Reginald Mitchell (born 1960) is a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Raised in the projects and teased for his slight stammer and dyslexia, Reginald turned to painting to capture the essence of the Big Easy. His earliest works were drawings of his hometown that displayed his unique perspective. Around 1990, Reginald began to color his drawings and eventually turned to acrylic paint on a variety of surfaces. His distorted and dynamic artworks depict New Orleans landmarks in grand scale with a sense of urgency and excitement.
