R. A.
Miller
R. A. Miller (1922 - 2006) lived on the same plot of land in Gainesville, Georgia, most of his life. He divided his time between working at a cotton mill and preaching at the Free Will Baptist Church. Over the years, he began creating paintings on discarded objects. He is most known for his cutouts on recycled tin and metal roofing. Some of the same figures appear time and again in his work: animals, devils, and "Blow Oskar." The latter was originally a message for his cousin, Oskar, to honk his horn when he passed R. A.'s house.
